Good stuff. I haven’t seen their MySpace page, but at best I can describe the music as blues-rock (mainly due to Mina’s occasional harmonica-izing). The first few songs were upbeat with punchy bass and drums, complemented by arpeggio-like lead guitar.
All of this plays well with Mina’s rock-tinged, Jewel-type voice (she’d probably shoot me for saying this). What can I say? When I asked her genre, she replied with singer/songwriter, but at first listen, it’s much edgier akin to a Patrice Pike.
Oh well, music is music and I enjoyed this. It’s the Austin I rarely frequent.
